There is a lot to love in this image. The color palette is very appealing and makes the very vivid green impactful but not harsh. The body painting is very skillful particularly the "torn" edge that is along the throat and chest. I thought that was fabric of some kind for a while until I gave it a closer view, that kind of realism is hard to achieve, particularly with real fabric so close to the painted area.
I really enjoy the coloration on your head, and while the somewhat tribal art on your head/face isn't quite my speed it's not a problem for me in general. IN fact it works pretty well with the shadow forms in the folds of the fabric.
I don't get a strong sense of narrative from it, which is why the lower vision and impact ratings. It's beautiful and well executed but I don't really get the visceral sense of childbirth nor do I particularly know what I should walk away feeling. Is there a particular message or is this simply an image to be enjoyed for it's inherent beauty and skill?
